“The concept of the Ivie
Technologies IE-33 handheld acoustic
analyzer is brilliant in its simplicity.
In the world of handheld instruments,
this combination of a feature-rich
test menu, small size and stunning
display are unique to the IE-33
in my experience. Even when packed
with data, the relatively small
screen stays easy to read through
intelligent layout and use of color.” (See the entire article.)

“All this functionality… will make you a real dangerous audio specialist! I think that the completion and measurement report, that shows your customer that you used advanced technologies to qualify and tune their system, is a crucial asset in getting paid at the end of the long and arduous path that a custom high-end theater project can be. Anything you can do to show them that you did responsible and qualified work is a feather in your cap, and dollars in your account. ” (See the entire article.)

"My IE-33 arrived Saturday
morning. I was able to get it set
up quickly (it was very easy and
straight forward) and start making
measurements in short order (I
had previously downloaded the manual
from your web site). My first "audio
discovery" was a large 16
kHz spike emanating from the living
room TV, something we had sensed
but never knew exactly what it
was!
On a more professional
note, I did take it to the studio
later in the day. It was the
hit of the parade! People were
analyzing every sound source
in site, claiming they could
finally "see" what
they had only suspected before
(kind of like with our TV). We
settled down to using it to compare
the spectrum of our mastered tracks
to others the client had brought
in. We first connected the IE-33
input to the output of a Nautilus
Nemo high end audio A-B-C mastering
source switcher. We then compared
the tracks acoustically using the
supplied mic. This gave us a view
we had never had before, comparing
how the mastered tracks and commercially
released tracks sounded "in
the room through our mastering
grade speakers" rather than
just through the electronics. This
has completely changed how we work!
In addition, clients can now "see" what's
going on and how it compares to
tracks they know and like (musicians
sometimes have fatigued hearing
and can't really "hear" subtle
EQ differences).
To say I am
a satisfied customer would be
an understatement! In the near
future I will be talking with
a double Grammy-winning recording
engineer and another studio legend
and will be showing them my IE-33.
It's definitely turned heads and
proved its worth in the studio
so far... and I've only had it
a couple of days!"
